The Role

Crossix Data Platform is a framework which connects huge patient healthcare data from multiple sources in a privacy safe method on a daily basis to maintain a current view of the US healthcare market. The result enables two core businesses within Veeva: Crossix Analytics which is dedicated to advancing healthcare marketing with analytics, innovative planning, targeting, measurement, and optimization solutions; And Compass, which enables clients to study and analyze deidentified healthcare data for various needs. Both businesses are positioned at the center of big data, innovative technology and provide most life sciences companies with insights to help make strategic business decisions and drive improved patient outcomes.

As a senior software engineer, you will take a leading part in a dedicated team designing and building the infrastructure for connecting and analyzing huge, privacy protected datasets in the cloud using Java, Spark and other technologies.
What You'll Do
  • Work with Product Managers and team members to understand requirements, create and discuss feature design documents, and implement solutions
  • Build platform capabilities for a set of new scalable data products to support enterprise customers
  • Write back-end code in Java, which involves Spark, multiple cloud services, and relational databases
  • Build and use monitoring infrastructure to track services, troubleshoot problems, and optimize performance, throughput, and costs
  • Investigate production issues and ensure the system is constantly improving
  • Work with the production team to track services, troubleshoot problems, and figure out how to reduce costs
  • Solve privacy challenges to ensure consumer and patient data is never exposed
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in building SaaS production solutions in the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • 4+ years of experience with server-side Java programming
  • B.Sc. in Computer science or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Design skills
  • Self-motivated and fast learner with a strong sense of ownership
  • Proficient English skills
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Big data processing and with SQL
  • Experience with Apache Spark framework
  • Experience with EMR
