PETER GASSNER: What if you worked for a mission-driven company that could become the most important job you had yet? We now have a legal duty to our customers and our employees, society in general, and our shareholders. We started in 2007, and now we're beginning to be quite a large company, well over $1 billion in sales.

But we’d like to retain our speed and I think we do that really well by breaking things down into small groups so people can move with autonomy.

ANDY HAN: We’ve been able to build independent application teams. Those application teams have been able to build applications really quickly at the speed that their markets really dictate.

PETER GASSNER: We focus on product excellence and if you’re a great engineer that’s what you want. So we have the processes in place in that we invest enough in product management to really partner with the engineers. I’m an engineer, so I know what engineers do. And so I think that empathy helps.

ANDY HAN: That focus is one of the things I love the most about working at Veeva, the ability of the leadership to make clear decisions about what we’re going to work on and invest in and even more importantly, what we’re not going to work on.

PETER GASSNER: Veeva is a work anywhere company. And what that means is you can work from the office or at home, whatever works best for you. We’re trying to help the world get more healthy by serving our customers, the biotech and the life sciences companies, that way they can get these medicines to patients faster. So we’re a mission driven company. It feels great.
