- Develop a strong understanding of the business model and local strategy, and enable business growth by providing proactive partnership at all levels, utilizing insightful data on employee experience, ensuring an engaging work environment and high-performance culture where employees can be their best selves
- Be a consultant and counselor to local leaders and people managers, develop trusted relationships through effective business partnering, translate business needs into HR program,s and lead in-country leadership enablement initiatives
- Create talent focus, including effective performance management, internal mobility, and overall learning and development; provide thought partnership and coaching to enable managers to align their business objectives to talent profiles and people strategies
- Provide expertise on employment regulations and employee relations matters; identify root causes and design solutions with creative thinking - not with a ‘black and white’ one-fits-all all mindset
- Partner closely with other ES team members to embrace effective collaborations, identify enhancement opportunities for overall Japan Employee Success operations, drive process improvements, programs reviews/establishment, and support change management to ensure the right support at scale
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in HR business partnering and coaching for high performance; ideally with experience working at fast-growing software, IT solutions, or consulting companies
- Deep understanding of how to operate in Japan from a cultural perspective, and enable cross-functional partnership and change management in a global matrix organization
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment compliance, Japan labor law/regulations, and market common practices, with hands-on employee relations management experience
- Native Japanese speaker with business proficiency in English; ability to deliver effective presentations and facilitate larger group discussions/workshops
- Strong growth mindset with the ability to collaborate, adapt, and lead changes and execute with speed
- Able to work with ambiguity, allows flexibility, and is highly resourceful. Has has the skills to create impactful business-oriented people solutions through creative thinking, data analysis, and navigating challenging conversations

At Veeva, we believe in giving back. Veeva’s support for charitable causes is entirely employee driven because we think giving is personal and should be directed by the individual. With our 1% Veeva Giving program, each employee receives an amount equivalent to 1% of their base salary annually to support the non-profit(s) of their choice. We don’t dictate favored corporate causes or ask employees to donate to specific non-profits. We never support a charitable cause in exchange for commercial advantage or preferential treatment.
